Christina’s case by Yota Krilli

A book launch

The play Christina’s Case is an imaginative presentation of the real-life story of an innocent Greek migrant woman, caught in the 'Social Security Scandal', the 'Kolpo' of 1978. She was arrested at dawn without warning by the Commonwealth Police and falsely accused of conspiring to defraud the Commonwealth. Her interrogation and imprisonment become a nightmare of humiliations, shattering her already debilitated health and her sense of her own identity. The play portrays her unexpected prison encounters, her bewilderment and demoralisation, as clouds of doom loom menacingly over her.

Christina's Case, Yota Krili’s new book, will be launched at the Greek Festival of Sydney by Mr George Athanasiadis, lawyer and playwright and Ms Anna Couani, poet and artist, in English and Greek.

The event MC will be Dr Panagiota Nazou.
