GREEK-AUSTRALIAN TREASURES

Over 100 years of Sydney Greek Orthodox Community life has resulted in the amassment of precious and significant archives and relics.
Paintings, religious artefacts, periodicals, documents, Icons (including the first Greek Icon to be painted in Australia), books and music, have all been lovingly preserved and stored over the years and will now be shared with the public.
This exhibition is a poignant visual history of a religious and cultural community 'a long way from home'. It evokes the passion, courage and devotion required in the establishment and conservation of a Greek Orthodox cultural way, in Sydney, over the last century.

Curated by Anna Ioannidou (Archivist - Greek Orthodox Community of Sydney), this special exhibition is proudly supported by Canterbury City Council and Campsie Library.
