"Raise a red wine-filled tumbler to what is deservedly a Newtown fixture." Catherine Keenan, Sunday life!

The Greek Festival of Sydney and Steki Taverna invite you to come and enjoy a unique slice of Greece with two special banquets featuring live Greek music.

Steki Taverna opened its doors 20 years ago as a hang out for the Greek students at Sydney University. Over the years it has developed into one of the most well known restaurants in Sydney and the place to go to experience high quality, authentic Greek cuisine and entertainment.

It will be almost impossible not to get into the lively party atmosphere once the wine takes effect and the live music, featuring bouzouki and the mesmerising voice of Vaggelis, begins. The banquet will consist of traditional Greek favourites including: fresh Greek salad with pots of taramosalata and tzatziki dip, barbequed octopus, calamari, succulent marinated lamb, meatballs and cheese and spinach pies. Round it off with mouth-watering sweets like baklava and loukoumi . Finally wash it all down with some fine quality wine and Greek coffee before you dance the night away.
