Attendees at this event will have the opportunity to win tickets to see the performances of Antigone and Alkestis.

In the build up to the Greek Festival of Sydney's season of Ancient Greek Theatre there will be an evening of talks and readings on classical Greek drama. Distinguished speakers will focus on Sophocles' Antigone and Euripides' Alkestis.

There will be short talks in English by two eminent Australian scholars, Dr Suzanne Macalister of the University of Sydney and Professor Harold Tarrant of the University of Newcastle. The programme will include an introduction by Dr Alfred Vincent, as well as summaries of the talks in Greek and readings of brief extracts from the plays in both languages.
