Interactive workshop for children 6-12 years exploring the myth of Persephone.

The gods were far from perfect; they got into all sorts of mayhem. They fell in love, squabbled, made mistakes, chased young girls and helped heroes in their exploits. They were often vain, jealous, spiteful, bad-tempered and even lonely. They also used elaborate disguises to trick their unsuspecting and hapless victims. This interactive and hands on workshop for children (6-12 years) will allow them to creatively explore the myth of Persephone and discover how the ancient Greeks explained the four seasons on earth. Children will be assisted by actors, visual artists and teachers in storytelling, drama and art-making activities. They will construct their own mini-stage and characters to allow them to recreate the magic at home.
