In Ancient Greek mythlogy, Persephone is the beloved daughter of the Earth Goddess, Demeter. When Persephone is kidnapped by Hades, King of the Underworld, Demeter's grief at the loss of her daughter turns the earth barren. The people begin to starve. Eventually, a compromise is reached between the two Gods and Persephone is shared between the two. Undone is a contemporary take on the Ancient Greek myth that explains the creation of the seasons. Sunday 1 May, 3pm, (repeat Friday, 6 May, 9pm) "ARIADNE'S THREAD" WRITTEN AND PERFORMED BY TALYA RUBIN. Ariadne's Thread is a semi-autobiographical solo play based on the author's experience of living in self-imposed exile on a Greek island in winter. The play takes us from the tragedy of a young woman's love affair, to the stories she hears from an old man on the island. Talya Rubin's delivers and outstanding performance. The Night Air - A contemporary radio mix of music, features and performance. Sunday, 24 April, 7pm "GREEK FEAST" The Night Air visits Perama, a Greek restaurant in Sydney's Petersham, and is regaled with Greek poetry, wine and song by owner Harry Tanvakeras. Chef David Tsirekas offers up traditional and new Greek cuisine, and virtual guests include many well-known Greek-Australians.
