The Dance Association of the University of Patra

All the way from Patra Greece, for one single performance that is not to be missed, The Dance Association of the University of Patra bring with them an exquisite multifaceted performance, including traditional dances from various regions of Greece, and the Association 's live band with traditional Greek musical instruments.

Combining dance, music, history and culture, the event features two distinguished guests, Mr. Kostas Gikas and Mr. Gregory Mikronis, who will walk the audience through the various costumes and dance routines that the performance features.

A graduate of Gymnastics, Mr. Gregory Mikronis is the Association's Dancing Instructor and a specialist in Greek folk dance. Mr. Kostas Gikas is the costume designer of the Folklore Museum of The Peloponnese and official costume designer for the Association.

Set to take place at Sydney's prestigious Town Hall, the program will include dance routines from all over Greece to music by famous composers such as Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadjidakis and Stavros Xarhakos. This is a one off event and a major highlight of the Greek Festival of Sydney 2006.
