Greek Festival of Sydney 2006

Sydney’s streets will come alive in celebration of the Hellenic Culture throughout March and April 2006 with The Greek Festival of Sydney which kicks off with Greek Fest 06 at Darling Harbour on Sunday March the 26th. It’s going to be a BIG DAY.

Featuring the best traditional Greek food, dancing, arts and crafts, comedy, music plus much more for you to come and enjoy with your family and friends. Greek Festival 2006 was touted as the largest community celebration that Darling Harbour has ever seen and 2006 will be even bigger. We are expecting over 200,000 Sydney siders to come and join the festivities.

Over the past 24 years the Festival’s popularity has grown considerably and with this years jam packed program of over 31 events, including Live Music, Dance, Theatre, Food, Contemporary Art, workshops and Philosophy, the Greek Festival of Sydney is happy to announce it’s finest program in the history of the festivals 24 years.

GREEK FEST DARLING HARBOUR – AUSTRALIA'S BIGGEST MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL

This year it’s the biggest Darling Harbour Fest yet with Headline act directly from Greece; Zik Zak featuring Klonaridis, this is a one off, GET DOWN THERE EARLY DO NOT MISS OUT!

All the way from Patra Greece, for one single performance that is not to be missed, The acclaimed 25 piece troupe will showcase a myriad of their finest traditional dances whilst the 8 piece band

Theatre through song and poem; rich in culture, music, colourful characters and stories, my “of Course” Life; explores ways that women of their own generation have sought to reconcile the traditional ways with a new life in Australia.

Direct from Chios Greece, this gorgeous exhibition taking place at Kudos Gallery is presented by one of Greece’s finest artists with her vision on the landscape and Culture of one of the world’s oldest civilisations.
