Harmony Day Concert
The Harmony Concert is co-hosted with the Greek Festival of Sydney, this year celebrating 25 years. Celebrate the cultural diversity of our communities with dancing, singing, catwalk and theatrical performances from our vibrant communities.

Greek Festival Darling Harbour
The Greek Festival of Sydney in 2007 celebrates a landmark event; its 25th Festival.



The 25th annual Greek Festival of Sydney will launch with a special two day long celebration at Darling Harbour on the 24th and 25th of March. Come and bring your family, bring your appetites and bring your dancing shoes for two days of music, fine food and Greek festivities.

Entry is free of charge.

 

Art Exhibition


Tales of Brides Past
This exhibition presents matrimonial artifacts and bridal personal testimonies from marriages, which possess significant cultural and historical value.

Revealing and Reliving
"Revealing and Reliving" explores the many interconnected ways in which past present and future correspond to create a modern experience for Greek Australians.

Skin Deep
Christou and Baldas are contemporary artists exploring identity and subdivisions in culture. They are drawn to specify events, observations and/or, experiences, brought together into a pinnacle in the exhibition 'SKIN DEEP'.

Images of the Goddess
From the Greek Mythology series by Jan Stapleton. Jan has been exhibiting in Sydney galleries and art shows since 1985.

The Portland Vase
In 1845, a young Irishman walked into the British Museum in London. He picked up a piece of marble and threw it at a small blue and white pot, smashing it into over 200 pieces.

Seven Pirates
How Greeks first discovered Australia: In the summer of 1827, British authorities arrested seven young Greek sailors off the coast of Crete and charged them with piracy.

Rebetika Cross Roads
Musicologist Gail Holst, author of the famed book, "The Road to Rembetika", and musicians from the Melbourne Greek band Rembetiki explore the urban blues of Greece known as Rembetika.

The Meaning of Life: St Francis and Nikos Kazantzakis
Nikos Kazantzakis (1883-1957) is famous as the author of 'Zorba the Greek' and 'The Last Temptation'. But these form a tiny part of the output of this passionate thinker, who wanted to help us create our own purpose and meaning in life.

El Greco
When Domenicos Theotokopoulos (1541-1614) left his native island of Crete at the age of 26, he became the most important migrant of Greek history whose work had a lasting impact on European artistic tradition.

The Iliad is not only the first ever European poem but also the most emblematic story of European history, a story indicating both exploration and expansion.

The Forgotten Oracles of Delphi
