Celebrating 25 years, the GFoS made its mark!

Celebrating 25 years, the Greek Festival made its mark on Darling Harbour with more stalls and entertainment then ever before. Saturday began with a buzz, the Greek dancers where entertaining the public and the frappe was flowing. Unfortunately by late afternoon the rain came and would not go away!

Thankfully Sunday proved to be a great day for the crowds to enjoy the festival. The local acts and Greek dancers where drawing in the crowd from near and far. As the sun slowly set James Kannis took to stage and got people out of their seats and dancing to his unique sound. Our international acts from Greece Christina Kolesta and Stathis Raftopoulos took the stage and of course did not disappoint. Together with Stathis’ Charm and Christina’s Zest they put on a exciting performance. To keep the vibe going George Vavasis’ Grecia Live with Nikita and Maria Marouli played a superb medley of songs that got the crowed ready for a big finally. An hour left to the end of the Greek festival and no other than DJ Krazy Kon got on stage and mixed up the tunes for a fitting end to an amazing two days!

We would like to take a moment and thank all our sponsors for their generous support.

 UPCOMING EVENT!

The Come Back by Theatre company Telia

This is a performance not to be missed! Only on for two nights at the St George Auditorium.
The performance "The Come Back" by the Athenian Theatre Company Teleia is based on Yannis Ritsos' dramatic monologues Orestis (1966) and Return of Iphigenia (1972). Created in the style of an ancient Greek tragedy, Ritsos passes into his contemporary Greece and creates heroes who bring truth, live in today and fight for the "Return to the Homeland".
