Crossroads is a captivating story of three women of Greek origin, who live in a small country pub, somewhere in the Australian countryside. Their simple and lonely life is stirred by the arrival of a young man whose origins are mixed, Aboriginal and Greek.
His presence becomes a blessing and a curse for the women. The generation gap and the clash of cultures and the alienation of the characters from their surroundings are elements that lead to conflict. The dramatic end is inevitable.
Crossroads is a serious anatomy of the human condition which transcends race or ethnicity.
Crossroads is an artistic event which should not be missed by anyone. It is a play of general appeal, very much in line with the present day feelings about reconciliation with indigenous Australians, yet it is a play that transcends community experiences.
In Crossroads the audience is offered a rare opportunity to explore the spirituality of ancient Greek and Aboriginal ritual. The bilingual dialogues and the English surtitles make it accessible for everyone.
