The 28th Annual Greek Festival of Sydney will launch with a special two day long celebration at Darling Harbour on the 20th and 21st of March. Come and bring your family, bring your appetites and bring your dancing shoes for two days of music, fine food and Greek festivities.

Entry is free of charge for all.


National Independence Day Parade

25th March is a day of celebration, commemorating Greece’s historic struggle for national independence in the 1800s. There will be a procession led by students of the Greek Orthodox Community Afternoon & Saturday Schools and culminating in a wreath-laying ceremony, poetry readings and traditional dancing. Parade commences 11.30am on Sunday 21st March from Pyrmont Bridge (south side) and ends at Tumbalong Park.

The Official After-party

Tumbalong Park

Two days of non-stop entertainment featuring live music from some of Sydney’s finest Greek-Australian musicians. Australia’s best Greek dancing displays and workshops, complimented by some of the most sumptuous Greek food in the Southern Hemisphere! There will also be arts and crafts stalls and the chance to win prizes.


Lesvos, Chios and Samos Marque

The North-Eastern Aegean Islands Lesvos, Chios and Samos come to Darling Harbour and bring with them the products that each of these three islands are renowned for. Experience firsthand the mastic products from Chios, Samos’ special Muscat wine, and Mytilines’ silky smooth ouzo.

Come and try for yourself these and many other products that will be available over the two days.

Stathis Raftopoulos from Greece

Thanks to our generous sponsor ANT1 Pacific, Fame Story’s Stathis Raftopoulos returns to Darling Harbour to perform hits from his album “O,ti Pio Omorfo”.

Stathis has featured as a vocalist on recent CDs by Yannis Koulias and Nikos Vertis, on George Dalaras’ “One foot in the stars”, and on the album “Troubadours of my heart”, on which first-class performers interpret the work of Alkis Alkaios.

Giorgos Xanthiotis

Giorgos Xanthiotis will be performing live on Sunday with his his hits “Chiculata – tsiki tak”, “Sokerde” and many more. With him will be Panos Xanthiotis on Violin and Clarinet and Ermioni Tobrou on vocals.

DJ Krazy Kon

His name is synonymous with playing & producing Greek Music all over Australia and his iconic “GREECE” CD series is an annual must have CD. In 2010, Krazy Kon prepares for the international stage with an overseas tour planned and the official release of his hot new track in Greece

Paroula Thurban

Paroula Thurban and the Greek Community Dance School have been performing in Sydney for over 40 years. Her dances will be showcased over the 2 days at Darling Harbour.
