Carrying one’s culture with pride is the foundation of belonging, of identity. But whilst immigrant cultures are celebrated, Australia’s First Peoples are facing cultural genocide. In this groundbreaking film, Aboriginal people in remote Australia speak about their ongoing fight to maintain their culture, languages, and way of life. Decades of government oppression are having devastating effects, with Aboriginal health now the lowest of any indigenous group in the world.
A discussion will follow with academic (and second-generation Greek) Thalia Anthony and former ABC journalist and 60 Minutes reporter Jeff McMullen.
